See video: vison/robotics system packs food pouches at 800 per minute

Watch in this video as Propack Processing & Packaging Systems president Chris Follows demonstrates how a four-robot pick-and-place configuration combines with a proprietary camera/vision system to ensure accurate packaging of both fluid-packed pouches with particulate-packed pouches into an awaiting flow wrapper.

Chris explains how the customer asked for a solution to “off-centre” robotic picking of the pouches, due to uneven product distribution in the pouches from conventional bagging processes.

The solution: “Our Pro Vision camera system identifies the perimeter of the package, thereby ensuring smooth and efficient robotic picking and placing of the pouches for optimal performance.”

Chris also demonstrates the ease with which 3-D printed machine components can be cleaned, sanitized and reassembled. “There is no way for bacteria to harbor,” explains Chris Follows. “Sanitation, speed and efficiencies are the priorities of our customers.
