“These Ishida scales are accurate to 0.12 grams. They save us a lot of money.”

Covered Bridge Potato Chip Co. CEO Ryan Albright intones, “There’s no slowing down for us. In five years, we’ll be very well known across Canada and seen as a sustainable employer of choice.”

To accomplish these tall objectives, “accurate and integrated packaging machinery is a must,” he maintains.

“We chose Heat + Control because we get everything we need from one reliable source.” Watch in this video as he demonstrates the efficacy of his multiple lines featuring Ishida scales, baggers, seal checkers and case packers, all from Heat + Control.

Ryan singles out for special attention the unique cameras mounted on the Ishida scales that show operators in real time on the HMI screens on the baggers the performance of the scales above. “I’ve only seen these supplied by Heat + Control. They are so good, we’ve put them on all our production lines.”

After weighing and bagging, the filled chip bags progress through seal checkers that automatically correct air pressures in chip bags or reject unsatisfactory bags. Follow the chip bags as they move into one of four fully automatic case packers. “These are the most compact machines of their type in the market and the large touchscreen HMI allows for easy detection and resolution of issues. With manual labour hard to find, these case packers are the solution.”

Dealing with one supplier like Heat + Control is a “huge time and money saver.” Operators benefited greatly from Heat + Control training, and service is just a phone call or e-mail away. Ryan says, “We went with Heat + Control to synergize our factory.”
