“Linerless labels have been a long time coming. They’re here now!”

Montpak International President Alex Fontaine enthusiastically discusses and demonstrates in this video how the Bizerba CleanCut linerless label system fits into his Continuous Improvement program.

“All projects at our feed/farm/process veal, lamb and beef business focus on how to simplify process and reduce labour costs.”

Alex demonstrates how Bizerba has helped his company go from manual weigh/price labeling to state-of-the-art print and apply tray labeling that allows the company to use a single label size format to accommodate all product descriptions.

“This reduces the number of SKUs and label inventory. The system allows us to have 40 per cent more labels on a roll, thanks to the elimination of label backing. A great sustainability boost.”

Project Engineer Ballo Kounadi shows us in the plant the operation of the CleanCut linerless system. “Machine setup is easy, and the user-friendly HMI allows easy automation.”

Derek Wagget, Director of Industrial Sales at Bizerba Canada, discusses the unique label design provided by the Bizerba Boucherville, Que. label-printing plant that allows for less waste as the knife on the machine cuts where there is no glue. He also shows how the 12-inch colour HMI screen helps load label parameters automatically and in a self-adjusting manner.

“Labels, hardware and software… We’ve got the whole package,” he asserts.

Watch the video to see how linerless labels are applied to trays of sliced veal.
