FAST LIVING
The FastBack series of conveyors from Heat and Control, Inc. comprises a range of modular systems covering a broad variety of conveying applications—moving, short-term storage, inspection, blending, distribution—across the full gamut of food industry environments. The company’s FastBack 260E model conveyor is a fast, gentle-handling, heavy-load conveyor that can handle loads of up to 60,000 pounds per hour, according to the company, while accomodating large-sized pans of up to 35 feet long, in operations requiring the high-speed transfer of heavy loads of fresh, frozen and fragile products. For its part, the company’s FastBack 90E system is a compact-sized, horizontal-motion conveyor equipped with a powerful drive that accepts a broad variety of pan sizes, with its programmable speed automatically adjusting to match the demands of multihead weighers. All of the FastBack systems can be outfitted with the optional Revolution rotary drum discharge gate at the end of the conveyors to facilitate the distribution of proportional amounts of product to multiple locations.

CHECK THIS OUT
Incorporating all the inspection capabilities of its popular Checker family of vision sensors, the new Checker 252 model from Cognex Corporation adds software capabilities that enable it to verify height, width, and diameter to deliver extremely reliable pass/fail results on high-speed production lines. Equipped with the user-friendly One-Click Setup feature—whereby the user simply clicks on the center of the part feature to be inspected—Checker 252 generates an image of a familiar caliper on the computer screen that locks onto the edges of the part feature to set both the minimum and maximum thresholds, while learning edge polarity. Available with the compact Cognex SensorView 250 industrial panel-mount display, the sensor offers a far more reliable alternative to photoelectric sensors, according to Cognex, by being able to verify dimensions of parts and packages with very low-contrast edges, while solving a much wider range of measurement verification tasks.
