Richmond, VA—Liqui-Box, a world leader in flexible liquid packaging solutions, has won a Silver Award for Technical Innovation for development and commercialization of the FlexAsept bulk food package.
Introduced in 2012, the distribution of FlexAsept package delivers impressive flexibility, improved thermal resistance and superior Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) performance.
This package delivers customers significant savings by reducing dunnage, extra handling and product spoilage as a result of flex cracking, with some customers reporting 100 per cent elimination of dunnage used to protect against flex cracking.
The award was presented during the 2015 FPA Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards Ceremony & Welcome Dinner on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 held in conjunction with the 2014 FPA Annual Meeting (March 3-5, 2015) at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida.
The Flexible Packaging Association (FPA) judged sixty-six package entries featuring innovative submissions that integrate consumer trends and needs with technical advancements in materials, graphics, structure, and sustainability to produce outstanding flexible packaging solutions.
Nineteen packages were recognized with twenty-three Flexible Packaging Achievement Awards within one or more categories including Packaging Excellence, Printing and Shelf Impact, Technical Innovation and Sustainability.
