Krones acquires beverage industry palletizing solution firm Schaefer Förderanlagen und Maschinenbau.

Neutraubling, Germany—Krones AG, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of beverage filling and packaging technology, has acquired 100 percent of the shares in Schaefer Förderanlagen und Maschinenbau GmbH of Unterföhring, Germany.

Since 2014, Schaefer has focused on engineering and after sales services in the field of pallet handling solutions for the beverage industry.

Schaefer GmbH’s expertise and its patent portfolio will complement Krones’ own packaging technology.

In 2014, Schaefer GmbH achieved a turnover of approximately €2-million (~CDN $2.7-million) with engineering and after sales services.
