Markem-Imaje acquires CSAT

Integration of CSAT’s high-resolution digital printing systems strengthens Markem-Imaje array of technologies, solutions and services.

Geneva, Switzerland—Markem-Imaje, a Dover Company and global leader in product identification and traceability solutions, has confirmed the acquisition of Heidelberg CSAT GmbH (CSAT) from Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG who had previously purchased CSAT in August of 2011.

CSAT, headquartered in Eggenstein, Germany, is a leading manufacturer in printing systems for the pharmaceutical and labeling industries. Gallus, which works closely with Heidelberg, will retain ownership of distribution rights for the Linoprint L rotary inkjet printing press.

According to Markem-Imaje president Serge Kral, the acquisition was completed on January 1, 2014 and expands Markem-Imaje’s technology portfolio and broadens the market reach of CSAT’s solutions through their expansive geographical coverage and services presence.

Kral explains, “This acquisition is part of Markem-Imaje’s focused strategy to broaden our technological expertise, expanding our ability to exceed the expectations of existing and new customers with ever more specific, effective solution sets delivered by our vast global sales and service network.”
