Geneva, Switzerland—Markem-Imaje, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of product identification and traceability solutions, has announced the appointment of Vincent Vanderpoel as President and CEO of Markem-Imaje.
Vanderpoel is a global executive, who has lived in Europe, Asia and the United States. He brings many years of experience in the digital printing industry, including 25 years with Hewlett-Packard, where most recently he directed the Laser, Enterprise and Solution Business as Vice-President and General Manager EMEA. Previously he spent a total of 12 years in Asia, where he held various executive positions, including overseeing a multi-billion dollar consumable business for Asia-Pacific and Japan.
Vanderpoel follows Serge Kral who will be retiring after a successful 20-year career with the company, including the past 3 years as its leader. Serge’s contributions to the company have been significant. He leaves Markem-Imaje in a strong position for the future.
Vandepoel brings new energy and an enhanced focus on growth to Markem-Imaje, and will lead the group’s efforts to serve an increasingly broad customer base around the world.
He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago and a Masters in Economics from the Erasmus University in the Netherlands. He and his family reside in Geneva.
