The new Sandvik Decorex range of pre-colored, stainless-steel material from Sandvik Materials Technology was formulated specifically for ‘eco-friendly’ design and low-cost manufacturing applications, according to the company, and is said to be especially well-suited for potential end-users in the packaging, consumer electronics, small appliances, automotive and interior design industries. Combining an extensive and exclusive color range and various surface finishes with the superior processing properties and technical benefits of stainless-steel strip, the Sandvik Decorex color-coated coiled strip—featuring superior adhesion between the base material and the surface layer—is currently available in thicknesses up to 0.8-mm and in widths up to 370 mm, with optimal color consistency assured along the whole strip length, and from batch to batch, via the company’s proprietary production process that ensures very tight flatness and accurate color layer tolerances.
