Premier Tech acquires vonGAL Corp.

Premier Tech, headquartered in Rivière-du-Loup, Que., has acquired the Montgomery, Alabama-based vonGAL Corporation, a manufacturer of conventional palletizer solutions for industries like baking, bottling, brewing, paint, pet food, and publishing. Financial conditions of the transaction were not released.
With this acquisition, Premier Tech’s Industrial Equipment Group (IEG) will combine vonGal’s expertise of some 80 employees to its existing team of 500 people.
Already one of the largest flexible packaging equipment manufacturers in the industry, IEG says the transaction will strengthen its position as a North American leader in the field of rigid packaging.
“This acquisition is in line with Premier Tech’s five-year strategic planning which aims at increasing its market penetration in its various segments and territories, while increasing its capabilities in terms of project scope and support to its customer base,” explains Premier Tech president and chief executive officer Jean Bélanger.
Already involved at many levels with end-of-line applications for robotic picking, packing and palletizing, and load securing (stretch wrapping and hooding), this acquisition to IEG’s commercial offering to the marketplace with a second U.S.-based manufacturing facility, for a total of four in N.A.
