Sonoco proves EveryDrop counts

HARTSVILLE, S.C.—Sonoco Alloyd, part of Sonoco Display and Packaging, a unit of global packaging company Sonoco, has been recognized with a WorldStar 2015 Packaging Award for its Whirlpool Water EveryDrop water filter package by the World Packaging Organization.
“The Whirlpool Water EveryDrop is a perfect example of Sonoco Alloyd’s core values and abilities—innovation, collaboration and design,” says Sonoco Alloyd vice-president and general manager Jeff Christensen. “By winning first the national AmeriStar award in June, and now this WorldStar 2015 award, we are solidifying a record of original, innovative packaging designs.”
This new-to-the-market product reinvents packaging for on-the-go water filters. The water droplet shape of the clamshell cavity positions the filter so the outer graphics clearly communicate what it is, how it works and the many ways to use this innovative product.
Additionally, the outer printed sleeve attracts shoppers with a 3D printed water droplet effect and refreshing graphic color scheme.
The World Packaging Organization selected the 2015 WorldStar winners on November 19, 2014. Representatives from 17 packaging associations judged 264 packaging projects from 37 countries.
The winners will be recognized in a ceremony during the IPACK-IMA 2015 exhibition in Milan, Italy, to be held May 19-23, 2015. The complete list of winners of the 2015 WorldStar Awards can be found at www.worldstar.org.
