Automation Flowmodul Gerhard Schubert GmbH lightline Flowpacker Pack Expo 2019 Schubert North America

Schubert impressed by exhibiting its lightline Flowpacker

The Pack Expo is North America’s largest packaging & processing industry trade show. Its venue switches yearly from Chicago to Las Vegas to ideally serve all regions across the continent. Since more than 10 years Schubert’s exhibition booth has been attracting visitors to the show. During Pack Expo 2019 the pioneer in packaging automation exhibited its lightline Flowpacker. This preconfigured compact machine seamlessly integrates Schubert’s Flowmodul in a picker line.

The Pack Expo is not only the largest show of North America’s packaging industry, it also addresses all manufacturers of fast-moving consumer goods. Makers of all product varieties that can be packaged by a Schubert system head out to Las Vegas for the show. “The show is always an ideal event to connect within the industry, exchange best practice knowledge and to set new industrial benchmarks to ensure future innovation,” summarizes Hartmut Siegel, Schubert North America’s Chief Executive Officer. Schubert’s booth visitors were well known customers that have put their trust in Schubert’s automation solution for many years and new prospects that were curious about Schubert’s versatile solutions for each challenge, its broad portfolio and outstanding local service in North America. Not only customers and prospects but also business partners and other suppliers took the opportunity to visit Schubert’s expert team.

It’s not only about selling the right machine – it’s about fitting it into the process

Schubert uses the Pack Expo to present its entire portfolio of packaging automation solutions to the North American market. At this year’s Pack Expo, manufacturers of pharmaceutical and cosmetic products, all types of food and beverage, as well as producers of technical items relied on meeting Schubert’s experts to discuss their particular industrial challenges. “The Pack Expo is the most important show for us in North America to directly present Schubert’s newest developments to the pharma and cosmetics industry based there and to be present with our experts from the US and Germany to answer all questions our visiting customers – existing and future – may have,” explains Olaf Horrenberger, Chief Executive Officer at Schubert Packaging Systems. This division of the German Gerhard Schubert GmbH takes responsibility for pharmaceutical, cosmetics, consulting and turnkey projects. Questions asked during the show could be more complex than “just” finding the right flexible system to package valuable products. “Oftentimes show attendees would need additional expert advices on the right type of packaging material, packaging design or upstream and downstream process flow,” describes Michael Graf, Director of Schubert Consulting. It’s not only about selling a packaging system – it’s about integrating the right solution into the customer’s existing manufacturing process or optimizing current processes, products or packaging designs to better respond to market requirements and consumer needs. Many North American manufacturers took the opportunity to learn more about Schubert’s consulting offers and its longstanding experience in packaging.

Once the process flows it’s all about ensuring it’s steady and smooth

The presentation of Schubert’s service portfolio in North America played an important role. Customers across the continent benefit from fast availability, highly qualified technicians and local training seminars. The German company presented its smart set-up with sites in Toronto (Ontario, Canada), Dallas (Texas) and Charlotte (North Carolina). “All three of our service sites are in large metropolitan areas with strong infrastructures enabling our technicians to be on site promptly to support customers”, outlines Erik Jensen, Head of Service at Schubert North America.

To ensure smooth flowing production processes, Schubert offers its North American customers local trainings at the Charlotte headquarters. Two training machines ensure that customers could become experts on Schubert’s latest state of the art technology and system components.
