“It’s exciting to take home over 30 awards and be recognized at the national level once again,” says Keeshan Selvakumar, Brand Director, Corby Spirit and Wine. “Awards like Connoisseur Canadian Whisky of the Year for J.P. Wiser’s 35 Years Old and Canadian Whisky Blend of the Year for Gooderham & Worts Eleven Souls demonstrate Corby and Hiram Walker’s commitment to continue innovating diverse products and creating some of the very best whisky that Canada has to offer.”

Corby’s owned Canadian whisky brands are produced at the Hiram Walker & Sons distillery in Windsor, Ontario – which was recognized for the second year in a row as Distillery of the Year by the Canadian Whisky Awards. Additionally, Master Blender Dr. Don Livermore was honored in a new award category as the first-ever Blender of the Year.

“To be recognized as the Canadian Whisky Blender of the Year was a great tribute and an honor,” says, Dr. Don Livermore, Master Blender. “Understanding the whisky consumer is challenging and always evolving. Deciding which blends to develop for the consumer at the right time is the most difficult part about the job, and to take home top awards has shown we have connected with our consumer by releasing good quality and premium brands.”

The Canadian Whisky Awards are held annually in January in conjunction with the Victoria Whisky Festival to recognize the very best Canadian whiskies and encourage distillers to maintain the highest quality standards. To qualify, the whisky must be distilled and matured in Canada. An independent panel of whisky experts selects the winners after tasting each whisky blind.
