Hundreds of visitors to the one-day table-top expo featuring the best of the newest packaging industry innovations.

On November 4, 2015, Canadian Packaging magazine held its third annual Top 50 Packaging Ideas Expo to a resounding success.

Held at the Mississauga Convention Centre, the Top 50 Packaging Ideas Expo sponsored by SEW-Eurodrive and QuickLabel Systems was well-attended by hundreds of enthusiastic visitors, much to the delight of the 40 tabletop exhibitors, who vied for attention with a bevy of brilliant packaging technologies, ideas and concepts.

For visitors, it was a chance to glimpse firsthand the latest in technologies and ideas made real, while for the exhibitors an opportune time to impress buyers looking for ways to either improve their production line or for ways to take their brand to the next level, or even to showcase how they can best perform for customers needing some much appreciated help.

Winning Tech
The Top 50 Packaging Ideas Expo offered a couple of prizes, one given to the company that, as determined by visitors and fellow exhibiting companies, possessed the most innovative packaging idea.

Top innovation prize was won by Canadian distributor Bandall Systems for its Bandall banding technology.

The Bandall solution bundles a product,  applying a printed band over a pre-wrapped pack, providing a clear view of the product while applying branding data featuring product information, promotional text, ingredients, nutritional information, best-before date—or anything else a brand owner might need. See www.bandingsystems.com.

Meb Gilani of Sparks Egg Farms was the winner of an Apple Sport Watch, chosen after the ballot was chosen in a second draw that featured only the people who voted for Banding Systems.

Coming in second place in fan voting was Tempo Plastics with their innovative flexible packaging. A full-length feature article on Tempo Plastics will be appearing in the upcoming November 2015 issue of Canadian Packaging magazine.

Will Canadian Packaging do it again? Public opinion seems to demand it.
