  • Mississauga, Ont.-based labels and labeling equipment supplier Weber Marking Systems of Canada has appointed Yves Collet as the company’s labeling system specialist for western Canada, to be based in Calgary, Alta.
  • Swiss-headquartered specialty chemicals group Clariant Masterbatches has appointed Grant Erikson as sales representative for color and additive masterbatches for the western Canada region—to be based at the company’s Clariant Masterbatches Canada operation in Delta, B.C.; and Allison Reed as sales representative for color and additive masterbatches for the northwestern U.S., based out of Seattle, Wash. In other personnel developments, the Clariant group of companies has appointed Steve Snow as head of the company’s Rite Systems business unit, formed after Clariant’ recent acquisition of the three U.S.-based liquid-color plant previously owned by Rite Systems, Inc.; Drew Babcock as head of the Rite Systems’ liquid-color business; Ray Sloan as Rite Systems’ business manager for liquid-color for the southeast region; Gerry McDonnell as business director for the Chicago-based Clariant Masterbatches North America; and Mike McDonnell as director of special projects for Clariant Masterbatches North America.
  • Nordson Corporation, Duluth, Ga.-headquartered manufacturer of precision dispensing equipment for applicating adhesives, sealants and coatings to consumer and industrial products during manufacturing operations, has appointed Olivier Huss as labeling market development manager for the company’s Adhesive Dispensing division.
  • Ampacet Corporation, Tarrytown, N.Y.-headquartered manufacturer of coloring inks, dyes, pigments and specialty additive masterbatches for extrusion, molding and other applications, has appointed Michel Sarao as Ampacet Canada’s account executive responsible for sales in Quebec and the Atlantic provinces.
  • Unisource Worldwide, Inc., Norcross, Ga.-headquartered distributor of paper, packaging and facility supplies, has appointed Stephen Mohr as marketing director for packaging, and Eric Walter as vice-president of finance.
  • Hartsville, S.C.-headquartered packaging product group Sonoco has appointed Howard Coker as vice-president and general manager for rigid paper and closures; Rob Tiede as vice-president and general manager for flexible packaging; and Roger Schrum as vice-president for investor relations and corporate affairs.
  • Toray Plastics (America), Inc., North Kingstown, R.I.-based manufacturer of polyester and polypropylene packaging films, has appointed Chad Hedden as national sales manager for the company’s Torayfan Division.
