After Montréal, Amsterdam and Paris, Sid Lee now launches a new office in Toronto, situated in the historic Distillery District – setting the stage with a media party on October 7, 2010.

Toronto becomes the home of Sid Lee’s fourth office and opens with a complete team to offer local, national and international clients the full spectrum of Sid Lee’s commercial creativity services including mass communications, digital marketing, branding, retail and experiential design. The team is expected to grow to 50 professionals within the next 12 to 24 months.

Although a new office, Sid Lee will serve long-standing Toronto clients that have been historically managed from the Montreal office, including Red Bull, Winners Merchants International and Kraft. Additionally, the Toronto office is in talks with multiple marketers and will soon announce several new clients.

“The Toronto office is an exciting new chapter in the Sid Lee story. We get closer to great brands and leading marketers. We can also tap into an incredible pool of creative talent,” explains Bertrand Cesvet, chairman of Sid Lee.

Vito Piazza, managing director for Toronto, explains the vision behind the new office: “Our mission is to put the unique Sid Lee approach to work for clients in Toronto and Canada. But we are very mindful of the important position Toronto holds in North America. Toronto is not just the largest Canadian city but also the fourth largest city in North America with an amazing multicultural profile. We believe there is an opportunity in Toronto for agencies with global reach to fully leverage their talent pool and bring international assignments to the city.”

Sid Lee’s space is a 5,000 square-foot mix of modern and historical influences located at 55 Mill Street in Toronto, purposely selecting the area for its office.

“With its community of artisans, the Distillery District embodies many of Sid Lee’s key values, particularly craftsmanship, creativity and collaboration,” notes Eric Alper, vice-president of strategy.
