HARTING opens two facilities in Mexico

Following a record breaking fiscal year in 2015, HARTING North America has expanded, recently opening two new facilities in Mexcio—including a new production site and a sales office.
HARTING Mexico sales is located in Mexico City, while the new manufacturing plant in Silao, Mexico, complements HARTING’s existing manufacturing site in Elgin, Illinois as both are equipped with state-of-the-art, automated production equipment and operated by skilled staff.
HARTING is the North American subsidiary of HARTING, a German-based global leader in the connector industry, developing and manufacturing products and solutions for use in mechanical and plant engineering, broadcast and entertainment, factory automation, power generation and distribution as well as industrial electronics and telecommunication.
The Silao plant in Mexico will focuse on high volume runs, while Elgin continues to produce small and large batch orders for custom connector and cable assemblies.
“The current economic conditions in Mexico offer enormous potential for HARTING,” says HARTING North America president and chief executive officer Jon DeSouza. “This is exemplified by the country’s expansion of their railway system, which indicates strong growth now and for the future in the transportation and machinery market—incidentally two of HARTING’s largest vertical markets.”
