REMOTE CONTROL
The new Electrical Discharge Detector Pen (EDD Pen) from SKF Canada Limited is a patent-pending, handheld instrument designed for reliable, remote detection of electrical discharges in electric motor bearings. Designed to provide a safe means of remotely detecting electrical discharge currents directly—rather than measuring the effects in later stages when damage has already occurred—the EDD Pen can be easily incorporated into an effective predictive maintenance program to significantly prevent unplanned machine downtime stemming the electrical erosion in the bearings.

GO WITH THE FLOW
The new Lincoln model 5805 Impact Fitting Cleaner from FLO Components Ltd.—intended to provide a time-saving alternative to fitting replacement and joint disassembly—is designed to eliminate downtime from dried blockages by via allowing lightweight oils or solvents to enter the clog with a quick burst of pressure. Also useful for cleaning bearing and joint surfaces of hardened grease prior to application of fresh grease, the Impact Fitting Cleaner includes a steel drive cylinder, a hardened piston and a safety shield.

TOP GUNS
The new Melton MF Series hot-melt guns from Valco Cincinnati, Inc. feature an integrated filter for superior adhesive filtrations, according to the company, resulting in cleaner application with less risk of nozzle clogging and char buildup. Offering on-the-fly flexibility to accommodate quick changes for various single-bead, multi-bead, reduced-cavity and zero-cavity applications, the air-opened/spring-closed MF Series guns are capable of operating at up to 4,400 cycles per minute.

TITANIC EFFORT
The new ultra-fast Titan linear labeling system from Harland America Inc. is capable of achieving top labeling speeds of up to 450-bpm (bottles per minute) with high label-placement accuracy, according to the company. Designed to meet the demanding speed, accuracy and reliability requirements of pharmaceutical, health-and-beauty products, and food-and-beverage labeling applications, the Titan system securely applies pressure-sensitive front and back labels to glass or plastic bottles/containers—accommodating products of virtually any shape and in a wide range of sizes—with its flexible design incorporating both conventional and advanced labeling heads to allow for effective, high-speed application of ultra-thin film labels. Comprising a main unit constructed of heavy-duty stainless steel, a single- or twin infeed screw unit, and up to four labeling stations, the Titan labeling system is custom-built to fit specific customer requirements and to integrate into most existing production and packaging lines, with its wide range of equipment options including product and label counters, infeed/outfeed monitoring controls, pharmaceutical security systems, a foil-stamper, and laser and inkjet coders.
