Los Angeles, CA – Roberts Beauty, an Innovative Beauty Group company and award-winning packaging innovator from Los Angeles, in collaboration with Oceanworks®, a global leader in combating plastic pollution, today announced a significant environmental milestone: the removal of 100,000 pounds of plastic waste that was destined for our oceans and their borders through the IMPAC+ program.

This collaborative effort reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to sustainability, increasing access to post-consumer recycled ocean-bound plastics and ocean cleanup. The partnership between Roberts Beauty and Oceanworks® reinforces their pledge to make a difference by helping to curb additions to the global plastic crisis. Roberts Beauty has undertaken thorough testing of resins to guarantee the compatibility of Oceanworks® materials across various formats and categories of cosmetic packaging. This ensures it is easy for brands of any size to access this post-consumer resin with a purpose to meet and extend their sustainability goals.

“At Roberts Beauty, we see sustainability as the core of our mission, intertwining environmental responsibility with our business objectives. Our partnership with Oceanworks®, resulting in the removal of over 100,000 pounds of ocean-bound plastic, exemplifies our dedication to a healthier planet,” states Bret Hadley, CEO of Roberts Beauty.

The IMPAC+ Program is a cornerstone of the Oceanworks® mission to eliminate plastic pollution from our ocean. It provides a comprehensive system for brands to offset parts of their plastic footprint that cannot be eliminated by funding the collection of ocean-bound plastic waste. This initiative not only protects our waters, but also supports the economic development of local communities involved in the collection process.

Vanessa Coleman, CEO of Oceanworks®, commented on the partnership: “We’ve found an incredible partner and collaborator in Roberts Beauty. They are leading the way in combating global plastic pollution not only by designing beautiful products with recycled ocean-bound plastic, but also by amplifying those efforts by directly recovering plastic waste from nature through their IMPAC+ by Oceanworks® campaign.”

Roberts Beauty’s longstanding commitment to innovation in beauty packaging has been greatly enhanced by the use of Oceanworks® recycled plastic materials. By participating in the Oceanworks® IMPAC+ program, Roberts Beauty has been able to remove over 100,000 pounds of plastic waste destined for our waterways by committing to removal goals tied to product sales. Participation in this program is available to any brand that decides to utilize Oceanworks® resin in their product packaging, further championing their commitment to the environment.

The success of the IMPAC+ program is a testament to the potential for industry-wide change towards greater ecological responsibility and is a proactive step in helping to prevent the addition of plastics in our natural ecosystems.
