The roller-coaster ride of grain prices continues this week.
Corn for September delivery fell 12 cents (2.9 percent) to close at $4.0525 per bushel in Chicago August 24, as speculators sold to lock in profits, after a bigger-than-expected plunge in US home sales stoked concerns the economy may relapse into recession.
Wheat for December delivery closed down 17.75 cents (2.4 percent) at $7.0775 per bushel, also pulled down by profit taking.
In Kansas City, December wheat fell 16 cents to close at $7.1550 per bushel.
In Minneapolis, it dropped 12.5 cents to close at $7.1425 per bushel.
