NESCAFÉ’S global mission secures the future of coffee through innovative ‘Bean to Cup’ sustainability
NESCAFÉ has partnered with Canadian designer Jesson Moento create a first-of-its-kind ‘Coffee Coffee Table,’ using NESCAFÉ repurposed coffee grounds as a key ingredient
North York, October 1,2021/CNW/ — As the world’s largest coffee brand, NESCAFÉ is on a global mission to secure the future of coffee through the Cup of Respect platform,one of the most ambitious coffee sustainability plans in the industry. As part of this commitment, NESCAFÉ aims to achieve being responsibly sourced globally by the end of 2025, with a more ambitious 2022 target for Canada.

Farming the Future of Sustainability
NESCAFÉ understands its business makes a substantial global industry impact and partners with community organizations around the world to secure fair and equitable practices for its future. Starting in 2010, the NESCAFÉ Plan, has unified and actioned its commitments to coffee farming, production, and consumption. NESCAFÉ has evolved its global sustainability initiative to the Cup of Respect platform, which is among the most ambitious coffee sustainability plans in the industry.
As part of NESCAFÉ’s sustainability efforts, its agronomists have worked with generations of farmers to teach them how to diversify their income, gain new business skills, and support NESCAFÉ’s global sustainability targets. NESCAFÉ also leads the way in sustainable consumer packaging practices through the use of signature recyclable glass jars; a key component in reaching the 2025 global target to use 100% recyclable or reusable packaging.
Unique, Sustainable Craftsmanship
Today, in celebration of Global Coffee Day, NESCAFÉ has partnered with Canadian designer Jesson Moen to construct a one-of-a-kind Coffee Coffee Table, made of actual NESCAFÉ repurposed coffee grounds, to exemplify sustainable production. The idea for its construction of this table was inspired by the method NESCAFÉ uses to power its factories, through ultra-clean steam created from converting energy from waste coffee grounds, supporting NESCAFE’s Net Zero Carbon Emissions by 2050 target.
Coffee tables are a place to come together to catch up, discuss thoughts, ideas and to breathe in relaxation while enjoying a comforting cup of coffee. With this in mind, NESCAFÉ set out to find a Canadian designer to exemplify sustainable production, using NESCAFÉ coffee as a key ingredient.
“The creation of the Coffee Coffee Table was a unique project that to me had special meaning, because it uses the waste produced by one of the world’s most popular beverages and turns it into a long-lasting conversation piece,” says Jesson Moen, Co-owner of Crux Design + Build. “This table is inspired by the NESCAFÉ Cup of Respect platform to demonstrate that sustainable living is truly within our grasp.”
