Keep The Faith

While it’s true that the wild runaway North American consumer shopping spree has run out of steam, those same consumers will still have to eat, drink and take their medication daily whatever the state of the economy, so most packaging companies that pick their markets right and earn their keep with truly innovative packaging products and technologies—more eco-sensitive packaging, more energy-efficient machinery, higher line speeds, etc.—will be able to ride out the worst of the coming Perfect Storm.

The half-empty glass is always half-full as well, and while it’s easy enough to dismiss business and consumer psychology as irrelevant economic intangibles, downplaying the power of positive thinking is a sure prescription to economic fears morphing into a self-fulfilling prophecy.
