German Technology Day Virtual Fair 2020: speakers and agenda

Bosch Rexroth, EPLAN, Murrelektronik, PILZ, Rittal and WAGO, six prominent companies in automation and advanced manufacturing, based in Canada with their headquarters in Germany, are hosting Canada’s second series of German Technology Days this Oct. 14.

Collaboration & Connectivity

This year, the theme is ‘Collaboration & Connectivity’ in keeping with the new mantra in the world today, where the need to join hands and work together to overcome boundaries and to create fully integrated, connected solutions, has become so crucial for success.

The agenda starts and ends with a joint session at which the 6 companies will take you through the Manufacturing Value Chain from Design to Production. This is the next revolution in manufacturing as businesses coordinate together to move into a new era of faster production and turnaround time. This will be followed with sessions from each of the partners that tie into the main theme while highlighting some of their main solutions for Industry 4.0.

Each company will share their latest industry-leading, energy-efficient solutions, and introduce you to some of the most innovative technology in the industry at their individual booths, where you will have access to a range of videos, literature and case studies on the various solutions.

Grand Contest

SPEAKERS & BIOS

Andre Bousette, Regional Director, Eastern Canada, Rittal

Andre has been with Rittal Systems Ltd., Canada for 25 years when he joined as an Account Manager, and today, he leads Rittal’s Eastern Canadian Sales teams. He has over 30 years’ of experience in the Manufacturing and Automation fields. Andre is joined by Olivier Bousette, Product Manager, Data Centre Solutions and Roland Younk, President, EPLAN Canada, to share their expertise in these areas.

Colin Cartwright, System Sales Manager, Murrelektronik

Originally a controls engineer in the UK with nearly 30 years of controls and automation experience, Colin works closely with the Murrelektronik technical sales team to help customers navigate the challenges of modern industrial networks and distributed IO systems leading to shorter installation times and lower control system costs.

Dave Hinder, Product Manager for Electric Drives and Controls, Bosch Rexroth

Dave over 25 years of automation experience, specifically in the fields of controls, motion and drives. Has been with Bosch for the last 18 years, starting as a Technical Sales Consultant, and later transitioning to the Product Manager role for Electric Drives and Controls.

Jon Pysanczyn, Senior Technical Sales Manager, PILZ

Jon began his career as a project engineer before transitioning to sales a decade ago, with a primary focus in automation. He has worked for manufacturers and distributors in sales and product management roles, taking care of several Canadian provinces and working to help customers find solutions to their challenges in a variety of different industries.

Roland Younk, President, EPLAN Canada

Roland Younk is responsible for establishing EPLAN Canada and has been responsible for its success in Canada for almost 25 years. Roland has over 30 years’ experience with the EPLAN software and services portfolio, and brings a wealth of knowledge to this role in Canada.

Tyrone Visser, Regional Sales Manager, WAGO

An IoT technology enthusiast, Tyrone comes from an engineering background with experience in various aspects of power system and industrial controls design. He has worked with various industries including oil and gas, rail, transit, mobile equipment, manufacturing and utilities to help them achieve efficiencies with their current designs.

10:00-11:00am: EPLAN: Connected Manufacturing: Design to Delivery.

Speaker: Roland Younk, President, EPLAN Canada

EPLAN explains how to handle the machining, the assembly and the wire processing in a smart digital environment in an automatic way, to reduce typical production time from 58 hours to less than 34 hours. Witness Connected Manufacturing in action, otherwise known as Production 4.0.

11:00am-12:00pm: Rittal: Connected World of Rittal: From IT to Industry.

Rittal highlights the growing alignment of IT within industrial builds, where ‘smart’ IIoT applications & software result in innovative automated solutions, as well as the collaboration between EPLAN & Rittal Automation Solutions, and how this fits into IT & industrial scenarios.

In this presentation Murrelektronik shares an example of the how machine builders and OEMs can increase their competitiveness by implementing some simple connectivity and collaboration strategies.

2:00pm-3:00pm: PILZ: Machinery Safety & Industrial Security in a connected Automation World

Speaker: Jon Pysanczyn, Senior Technical Sales Manager, PILZ

In addition to machinery safety, industrial security is becoming increasingly important. It is no longer enough to simply protect people from accidents when operating machines. The machine also must be protected from potential attackers, since external manipulation can impair or eliminate machinery safety.

3:00pm-4:00pm: WAGO: Demystifying IIoT for Manufacturing.
