Marty Carpenter takes over the Canadian Beef Grading Agency
Carpenter succeeds Dennis Laycraft effective immediately.

The Canadian Beef Grading Agency (CBGA), who work with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to grade beef in Canada, have named Marty Carpenter as president, taking over for Dennis Laycraft, who has served been on the job since only January of 2017.
Previously, Carpenter worked with Alberta Beef Producers, Beef Information Centre and Canada Beef.
The private, non-profit corporation Canadian Beef Grading Agency is accredited by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to deliver grading services for beef in Canada. The grade standards are set by the Federal Government based on recommendations from the Industry/Government Consultative Committee on Beef Grading.
