Automation Storcan Conveyor Systems

“Innovation is key: we can’t simply offer cookie-cutter solutions to our clients and hope it will do the job.
“We specialize in providing a conveyance solution that will not only work in the most efficient manner for each client,” St-Martin states, “but will also grow with them as needed.”

This proactive approach has enabled the company to become an important equipment supplier to some of North America’s leading bottling operations, reveals St-Martin, listing the likes of Molson Coors Brewing Company, Moosehead Breweries Limited, The Coca-Cola Company, and the Pepsi Bottling Group as some of its high-profile customers.

“During our 30 years, Storcan has developed many high-performance modular conveyor systems, with great flexibility, that are adaptable to each container type,” St-Martin relates.

“Our made-to-measure systems offer optimal layouts that take into consideration each client’s environment and can accommodate even the most restrained workspaces.”

One of the company’s more recent prized customers is Cold Spring Brewing Co.—one of the largest energy-drink producers in the U.S.—which employs Storcan equipment for about 90 per cent of all the conveying lines at its bottling operations, according to St-Martin.

Offering a plethora of equipment choices and options to suit applications specific needs, Storcan’s conveyors come in two basic styles: those designed to transport filled product; and the so-called “airveyors’ for moving empty containers.
Manufactured with stainless steel, the Storcan airveyors can handle both cans and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) bottles—in sizes from 250-ml up to 2.5-liter—using integrated adaptable modules to enable them to rise, descend, or turn the containers as needed on the line, while ensuring that the containers never tip over at any speed.

“Our tabletop conveyors can handle plastic or glass bottles, packs or cases, in a very safe manner,” says St-Martin. “We use a magnetic chain drive that moves the conveyors quickly and smoothly.

“These are very flexible devices and, with all of the available widths and multiple options, they easily adapt to conditions in any operation,” he asserts. “Whether it’s for a simple crosssection or to alleviate congestion, the tabletop conveyors provide a very affordable option.”

The Storcan conveyance systems are available with either belts or rollers: the belts providing a more stable surface to ensure optimal, accident-free product transfer; with the rollers being the preferred choice for transport of boxes or cases with low to zero pressure.
