Partnership with Sacmi strengthens Robpac's position within the packaging industry as a leader providing end-of-line solutions.

All the qualities that make Robopac—a designer and manufacturer of stretch, shrink, taping and case erector wrapping machines—an ideal global partner for plant engineers worldwide have received further confirmation through Sacmi’s decision to enlist Robopac as its partner to improve the end-of-line technology offered by the company.

Based in Imola, Italy, Sacmi Group, is an international manufacturer of machines and complete plants for the ceramic tile, beverage, packaging, quality control process, and plastics industries.

The two centers of industrial excellence, both based in Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region and operating in the packaging machinery industry, have signed a partnership agreement aimed at creating added value by reinforcing the specific technology that has always been a key feature of the development of the two companies.

In detail, the agreement concerns the Sacmi Packaging solutions designed for different industries and envisages a handover of the control and management of the end-of-line automation and finished product handling technology to Robopac.

“We are very pleased that Sacmi has chosen us for this new partnership,” says Robopac co-chief executive officer Enrico Aureli, “which, once again, demonstrates our company’s role as a global player and acknowledged technology partner in automation and end-of-line logistics, capable of guaranteeing top performance within production plants. Employing the technology available within the Sacmi Packaging world, we have strengthened our end-of-line range, particularly in the tissue, food, home and personal care, and beverage segments.”

Sacmi Imola chief executive officer Paolo Mongardi states: “For several years now, the Group has been supporting the growth and consolidation of its global leadership role in the various sectors through a careful policy of strategic sales and acquisitions. In this case, entrusting the Sacmi Packaging end-of-line operations to a partner with recognized excellence allows us to focus our attention and resources on plant and machinery linked to the world of beverages—bottling, labeling, and manufacture of containers, capsules and preforms—a segment in which Sacmi has experienced a steady increase in market shares and brand awareness in international markets. This progress was accompanied by a leap in logistics and handling quality, and consequently the partnership with Robopac, the aim of which is to create added value within the global scenario for both of our companies.”

Further exciting features will be developed for these new solutions at Robopac’s technology and manufacturing hub in Castel San Pietro (Bologna), which is strategically located in the heart of the Italian Packaging Valley and houses—apart from the entire Robopac range—the revolutionary TechLab, the industry’s most advanced research center dedicated to continuous innovation in the field of packaging, palletized load stabilization and customer advisory services.

“As well as consolidating our position as suppliers of innovative end-of-line solutions that curb packaging costs and guarantee maximum safety of palletized loads,” adds Robopac co-chief executive officer Valentina Aureli, “this move also confirms our mission as global partner for the leading system integrators, serving the most exacting international clientele and offering customized solutions and outstanding service worldwide”.

Sacmi Beverage Division general manager Alessandro Paini notes, “Over recent years, Sacmi has invested heavily in the development of new know-how, in the manufacture of caps and preforms for the beverage industry, and in technology for container formation, filling, and decoration. Our approach as global supplier of complete systems in the beverages industry made Robopac the natural choice as a partner for end-of-line solutions guaranteeing quality and performance of the level offered by our proprietary technology”.

Through this partnership with Sacmi, Robopac has strengthened its position within the packaging industry as leading name for end-of-line solutions, which should be viewed not only as the final stage of the manufacturing process but also as the first stage of logistics.
