Splosh, the online retailer helping customers reduce their plastic waste, has gone one step further in their drive to save 1 billion bottles from bins by hijacking competitors’ bottles in a bid to cut waste plastic to zero.

The Welsh start-up was founded in 2012 with the aim to be kinder to the environment and reduce the amount of plastic people use by delivering refill pouches for household essentials as concentrate with customers simply having to add water to make the product.

So far Splosh has saved over 663,000 bottles and by hijacking mainstream brand  handwash bottles they hope to save even more

Customers simply rinse out an old hand wash bottle, stick the Splosh label on and follow the instructions, filling up with a Splosh refill pouch and then adding water.

Founder, Angus Grahame says, “Splosh is committed to saving 1 billion bottles and with our unique refill service customers are able to reduce their plastic waste to zero. We’ve disrupted the market already with our circular economy approach but we’re going one step further and hijacking the big brand hand wash bottles.  Splosh is committed to eliminating plastic waste through whatever means possible.  Everything we do has the environment at the heart of it”.

This circular economy approach sees most of Splosh’s products come highly concentrated and delivered through the post.  Customers then dilute with water.  Splosh delivers its products straight to the home and supplies refills in innovative pouches.  These pouches are recycled and made into useful products when they are returned by customers for free.  This circular approach makes Splosh the only company that cuts plastic waste from household bottle use to zero.

Among several firsts, Splosh has developed the world’s first refillable toilet bowl cleaner and the first shower gel from refillable concentrate. All the Splosh products are environmentally friendly that are gentle on the earth and the skin too.
