SIAL Canada, North America’s largest International food and beverage trade show, is back in Toronto from Apr. 30th to May 2nd, 2019 at the Enercare Centre.

If members of the food and beverage industry were not counting down the days and months  for SIAL Canada, North America’s largest International food and beverage show, in April, they certainly started after attending their 5@7 launch event last night.

Hosted at the hip 2nd Floor Events in Toronto’s fashion district, SIAL Canada gave guests a chance to mix business with pleasure as they indulged in appetizers and drinks. The evening included a  presentation about the upcoming trade show. SIAL Canada chief executive officer Xavier Poncin used his platform to inform guests about exclusivities of SIAL Canada 2019, followed by pitches from experts, including Canada’s Food Trend expert, Dana McCauley.

“Networking events like this one where I get to interact with some of the people who are doing interesting and exciting things in the food industry are fantastic,” McCauley says. “Of course, at the show you get to meet up with all of the Canadian folks that you may have worked with or hope to work with in the future as well as make a lot of international contacts.”

Poncin spoke about the core values of SIAL’s success, which involve three pivotal pillars: innovation, international representation and local representation, saying, “obviously, this is something that has worked for us in the past.

“The number one priority of our customers is the innovation.”

The show, which will run from Apr. 30 to May 2 at the Enercare Centre, will touch on a number of trends in the food and beverage industry, including packaging and its metamorphic role within the industry, due to the sustainable initiatives that various companies have been taking to reduce waste. And, for the first time ever, SIAL Canada will also be hosting a cheese competition amongst the different customers and vendors. This adds to the uniqueness that SIAL Canada strives for in each of their trade shows.

“There is no show like us – it’s one of a kind,” Poncin extols.
