On November 18, 2016, Kraft Heinz will close its 44-year-old Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania facility that had been producing Grey Poupon mustard, A-1 steak sauce and even Keurig coffee—all now being shifted to other facilities in Canada, Michigan and Illinois.
Mews of the closure (affecting 341 people) was announced in 2015, along with six others in Canada and the U.S. through 2017, as part of a downsizing to eliminate about 2,600 jobs after the merger or Heinz and Kraft.
Other affected plants are: St. Mary’s, Ont.; Fullerton, California; San Leandro, California; Federalsburg, Maryland; Madison, Wisconsin; and Campbell, New York.
Following these closures, Kraft Heinz will still have approximately 18,000 employees in 41 facilities.
