Local dairy goes robotic with high-tech palletizer providing it faster load times and overall greater production line efficiency.

ALEXANDRIA, MN—Douglas Machine Inc. recently integrated its Stratum robotic palletizer to pick and place 50lb cases of powdered cheese at an Alexandria, MN local area dairy facility.

The purchase of the robotic Stratum palletizer takes the customer from its original hand-loading operation to the faster and more efficient automation end.

The Stratum uses a Fanuc robot with an end of arm tool capable of multiple case sizes without manual adjustments.

This palletizing system dispenses and conveys pallets, meters cases on the product infeed plus utilizes robotics to palletize cases and apply slip sheets.

Douglas also integrated a close coupled automatic stretch wrapper to stretch-wrap the pallets.

The dairy customer opted to purchase from Douglas Machine for a number of reasons:

  • its excellent reputation within the industry;
  • local proximity to the dairy;
  • robust machine design and performance;
  • and a superb after-market service.

According to Douglas Machine, all its palletizers, including the Stratum, can be customized for multiple markets.
