Airpack acquires Pregis Euro operations

American manufacturer of protective packaging sells European division to Italian firm.

Deerfield, Ill—Airpack, S.p.A ofLodi, Italy, has acquired Pregis Corporation’s European protective packaging operations for an undisclosed amount.

Back in 2012, Airpack had purchased Pregis’ Italian operations. This new acquisition is part of Airpack’s strategy to increase its European footprint.

“We are pleased to be able to reunite the Italian business unit with the rest of the European operations. We now will have the support of more than 1,000 employees who will assist us in providing protective packaging solutions to the United Kingdom and across the entire European continent,” says Airpack managing director Sergio Folli.

The acquisition includes Pregis operations in the UK, Belgium, Germany, Romania, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. Manufacturing capabilities include foam and bubble extrusion, engineered foam and mailers.
