Pilz expands its safety gate systems with two new products - one for faster diagnostics, and one for greater design freedom.

BARRIE, ONT.—Pilz is expanding the safety gate system PSENslock to include two new product types: one type offers expanded diagnostic functions; while the other type enables OSSD outputs (Output Signal Switching Device) to be switched independently from the guard locking device. PSENslock can either provide faster diagnostics or greater design freedom, depending on the task.

PSENslock provides safety gate monitoring with electromagnetic process guarding for gates, flaps and covers in one compact product.

The new type with expanded diagnostic function provides an additional benefit, particularly in application areas in which several PSENslock are used. Users can immediately detect where a guard locking device has not been activated, due to contamination for example. This saves time, due to fast diagnostics in the event of a fault.

The second new type of safety gate system enables the OSSDs (Output Signal Switching Device) to switch independently from the state of guard locking. As a result, users have greater flexibility and design scope when implementing their application.

PSENslock are designed for applications up to PL e of EN ISO 13849-1, SIL 3 of EN/IEC 62061.

The safety gate system is open, enabling it to be connected to all standard evaluation devices as well as to Pilz control technology – the safety relays PNOZ, the configurable control systems PNOZmulti and the automation system PSS 4000.
