Nature Fresh Farms grows and packs tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers organically and conventionally in the state-of-the-art facilities in Leamington, ON and Delta, OH.
In the video, Cornelius Neufeld, Operations Manager, puts the Leamington automated tomato packaging line through its paces.
He offers high praise for one of his automation partners, Paxiom.
“We bought a WeighPack machine for the Delta plant and were very happy with its performance. We then purchased EndFlex TrayPackers from Paxiom for each of our two plants.
The TrayPacker features robotic pack and place of the clamshell packages that have been filled with Nature Fresh’s trademark cherry and grape tomatoes.
“We can do up to 65 packs per minute. The HMI on the machine is extremely easy to use and stores a dozen different recipes for efficient pack size changes. It’s a great labour-saving unit for us, and installation and service have been very responsive.”
Cornelius concludes, “As we grow our business, partnering with automation providers like Paxiom will become increasingly important.”
