“The MULTIVAC R105 retains the wedge shape of our product, which is part of our brand image.”

In this video, company founder Margaret Coons chronicles the founding of her artisanal non-dairy-cheese business, from hand-wrapping in cheese paper to installing a fully scalable MULTIVAC R105 thermoformer that is built to “grow with us.”

“It is highly important to us,” explains Margaret, “not to compromise the quality of our products… This machine is a game changer for us that delivers a six-month shelf life.”

In the plant, VP of Operations Scot MacMillan demonstrates how they cut their artisanal non-dairy cheese wheels into 12 equal-size wedges, which are then placed in the R105 die-box, which contains the unique wedge-shaped film moulds.

“The HMI is easy to use and keeps us on track to produce at six-to-eight cycles per minute… and can do more.”

“Because the R105 is so easy to use,” says Scot, “we’ve purchased a MULTIVAC T305 tray sealer, along with tray-sealing film, for our new line of cream cheeses that we will package in tubs.”

MULTIVAC’S Western Ontario Sales Manager Andy Malacaria adds, “This is a high-quality tray sealer with a small footprint and great price point.”
