The sixth Walmart Canada Sustainable Packaging Conference has been set for June 19, 2012 at the Toronto Congress Centre.
Produced by PAC – The Packaging Association, the important event will build on Walmart‘s sustainable packaging initiatives, including the Walmart packaging scorecard.
With Walmart continuing its efforts to reduce its product packaging by five per cent by the end of 2013, the packaging industry has gained important insights into sustainable packaging.
While progress has been made, Walmart acknowledges that there is still a fair amount of work to do to achieve its goal.
Says Shelley Broader, president and chief executive officer of Walmart Canada Corp., “Our conference objective this year is to provide you with the latest information to ensure that together we deliver tangible progress toward our goal to reduce product packaging by five per cent, as well as our long term goal to create zero waste.
“I look forward to seeing you at the conference and sharing with you our progress on key sustainability initiatives.”
