Unisource Canada: Earth Week Success
By Canadian Packaging Staff
Sustainability Earth Week Unisource CanadaEarth Week—April 20-24, 2009 was a time of giving for the folks at Unisource Canada Inc. when its employees worked to help their communities become a greener and healthier place to live.
Working on a national-level, Unisource raised 4,825-lbs of food for local area food banks and over $2,400 for Scouts Canada to support planting trees efforts across the country.
One of the regions to take the extra step and make a physical difference is the Courtneypark facility where employees volunteered to participate in a tree-planting day at the Mimico Creek Watershed in conjunction with Partners in Project Green. The 23 Unisource employees contributed significantly to the 1,600 trees planted.
Unisource Canada was recently awarded the Silver Award in the category of “Most Environmentally Progressive Vendor in Canada” at the Environmental Printing Awards hosted by PrintAction.
Unisource Canada is continuing to partner with suppliers and customers who are always looking to make a positive, sustainable contribution within their communities.
