PAC is delighted to announce that effective immediately Dan Lantz, PAC NEXT Director; Alan Blake, PAC NEXT US & FOOD Director; and Karishma Chandok, PAC NEXT & FOOD Intern have joined the team.

In these newly expanded roles – Blake, Lantz and Chandok will share responsibility in leading PAC’s sustainability programs. They will drive efforts to support and enhance initiatives, offering members a solid foundation to grow their business and position themselves as sustainability leaders.

“The sustainability movement has reached the tipping point and global awareness of plastic waste demands an immediate response,” says James D. Downham, PAC President & CEO. “PAC NEXT was formed is 2011 with the vision of ‘A World Without Packaging Waste’ and we remain committed to our goal. Our members and the packaging industry need our leadership today more than ever, and I am confident that this team will provide it.”

Dan Lantz joins the PAC team with over 30 years of experience in the waste management industry – more than 20 of which were spent consulting on the design of recycling programs for several municipalities, helping to improve efficiencies in material recovery facilities across North America.

“I have had the sincere pleasure and privilege of working with Jim and PAC NEXT since its inception nine years ago,” says Lantz. “The organization does excellent work bringing together representation from across the packaging supply chain in a collaborative manner to reduce the impediments and improve opportunities to realize the goal of ‘a world without packaging waste.’ I look forward to this opportunity with PAC as we take on new challenges and helps the packaging industry move to a circular economy.”

Downham is pleased to welcome back Alan Blake. As the Director of PAC NEXT and FOOD from 2012 to 2016, Blake requires little introduction. The PAC team is fortunate that he has the time to offer his support as a mentor, brand owner and sustainable packaging expert. Alan will lead PAC’s webinar programs, food waste initiatives and liaise with important partners.

“I’m delighted to be able to support PAC again. I remain passionate about the important role that packaging plays in our society today. It’s crucial to create a forum whereby collaborative supply chain solutions can be identified that deliver circular outcomes, to reduce and eliminate packaging and food waste. PAC is a leader here and it’s great to be a part of this effort once more.”

Karishma Chandok has been a PAC intern since 2016, helping with PAC NEXT and PAC FOOD reporting and research. She will continue in this role and support both Lantz and Blake with their PAC sustainability initiatives going forward.
