Canadian Produce Marketing Association (CPMA) continues with its townhall meetings across Canada, first begun in 2015, recently visiting Prince Edward Island.
These regional events provide members and those with an interest in the Canadian produce marketing industry a chance to meet and discuss directly with Canadian retailers and the CPMA Executive and hear updates on current issues.
Beautiful Tracadie, Price Edward Island was the setting for a CPMA summertime Town Hall and BBQ on August 9, 2016 sponsored by the PEI Potato Board. Over 50 industry representatives from across Canada joined Federal Agriculture Minister the Honourable Lawrence MacAulay, PEI Agriculture Minister Alan McIsaac and Half Your Plate Ambassador Chef Michael Smith for an informative discussion of industry topics.
Following the Town Hall over 150 islanders from Minister MacAuley’s riding enjoyed a community barbecue featuring Half Your Plate inspired recipes. Event sponsors are: PEI Potato Board, den Haan Greenhouses, Nova Agri Inc, Cavendish Produce, Mid-isle farms, King’s Produce, Red Isle Produce, East Point Potato and Atlantic Beef Products.
