Videojet Technologies Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of coding, printing and laser marking products, fluids, and accessories for the product identification industry, has released its new Simple Operator Interface software option for laser marking systems.
The interface allows for seamless integration with production lines and packaging machinery, reducing installation time and costs. As well, it also results in quicker and easier code changes and reduces coding errors.
With the Simple Operator Interface software, coding tasks are accessed directly through intuitive icons, and an easy-to-read message preview is always visible so operators can see exactly what is being printed on the products or packaging. Selecting jobs, editing messages and adjusting codes require only a few steps, and a screen layout devoid of complicated menus eliminates operator confusion and simplifies training.
The Simple Operator Interface software is offered separately for installation on the touchscreens of all Videojet laser marking systems or it can run on any PC or PC-based user interface device. Touchscreen or PC installation options offer greater flexibility in positioning the interface at a location that is convenient for operators in industries in which a large volume of product must be accurately coded, such as the food, beverage, cosmetics, pharmaceutical11or consumer packaged goods industries.
For packaging machinery OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), the Simple Operator Interface software enables adding control of the laser coder to an existing primary machine interface to save space and cost, and reduce the number of control points to manage during a product changeover.
Once installed on a Videojet laser marking system’s touchscreen or a PC, the software connects directly to any model in Videojet’s full line of CO2, fiber or Nd:YAG laser marking systems. It can connect with up to four laser marking systems simultaneously for a single point of control in multi-line packaging and applications in which both sides of a carton require variable data.
