Samuel Packaging Group and MetPro are working together to bring BioTect VCI solutions to the North American market. Operating as an authorized North American distributor for MetPro, Samuel Packaging Group aims to increase its protective packaging reach.
With increased protection on ferrous- or zinc-coated metals, as well as, copper and aluminum alloys, BioTect is setting new standards for occupational health and safety for handling of VCI films. All of BioTect’s ingredients are U.S. FDA- approved for direct food contact and can be used in direct contact with metals which will subsequently be used in food packaging.
BioTect VCI is completely amine- and nitrite-free, and offers the added benefits of eliminating the typical associated risks that come with most standard VCI films.
Boasting corrosion protection for up to 15 years in storage, the BioTect brand of VCI offers full-metal protection, covering: galvanized steel, aluminum, brass, copper, cast iron, etc., and has applications in several industries, including: automotive, heavy plant equipment, precious and semi-precious metals, electronics, and primary metal distributors and producers.
BioTect film is a polyethylene film, which contains a combination of VCI chemicals, protecting metals through direct contact and vapor action during storage and transit.
The BioVCI is extruded directly into the polyethylene film and not subsequently applied. As a result, the volatile and contact inhibitors provide long-term corrosion protection for the most intricate and inaccessible surfaces.
