Automation Controls/Drives Clean Design MPA-C valve terminal Festo AG & Co. KG Festo Canada

Festo’s Clean Design MPA-C valve terminal meets strictest hygienic standards.

Mississauga—Festo’s new Clean Design MPA-C valve terminal for the food and beverage sector combines excellent durability and cleanability with unique space-saving and performance-enhancing capabilities.

The MPA-C excels in environments where regular, intensive cleaning is performed to satisfy the most stringent sanitary requirements. Made of U.S. FDA-compliant materials and boasting a redundant seal system, the MPA-C meets the requirements for protection class IP69K and CRC4 for highest corrosion resistance, assuring consistent, problem-free cleaning where high pressure jets or strong cleaning foam are used.

For OEMs (original equipment manufacturers), the MPA-C can be located virtually anywhere on the machine, even close to the application, reducing the amount of tubing required. Shorter tubing lengths mean faster cycle rates – making possible high operating speeds. For example, if the tubing length is reduced from five meters to one, the cycle time is halved. Shorter tubing also allows for quicker and simpler installation and servicing. In addition, the MPA-C can serve as a centralized or decentralized control system, doing away with the need for a control cabinet.

The MPA-C is modular, expandable and readily configurable. It can incorporate an electrical interface, front or back side, with multi-pin, fieldbus or Ethernet connectivity. It can be configured for one to 32 pressure zones, drawing on a wide range of valve options in Festo’s extensive portfolio.
