New from Cryovac are three new bag loading systems featuring improved reliability and speed for vertical and horizontal applications.
The BLX-F1 taped bag loader (see photo at left) is a new high-speed bag loader offering quick change-over times providing processors with the versatility they need to package a variety of small- to medium-sized products and weights.
The BLX-F1 loader has been given 3-A approval for dairy equipment and automatically loads all cheese types in Cryovac taped bags. Additionally, the system can be used to package smoked and processed applications, and ready-to-eat products.
The speed of the BLX-F1 automatic bag loader depends on the length of the product, varying from 35- to 45-cycles per minute. The PLC-controlled system can save up to 99 different product settings on a touch panel control operator interface and is equipped with sensors and controls to ensure the product is correctly staged for gentle and efficient loading. Multiple infeed configurations are available to better utilize plant floor space.
The BLX-F1 autoloader handles bag widths of 5- to 15-inches and bag lengths up to 20-inches. The maximum product weight for the system is five pounds.
As well, Cryovac recently released the BL145 and BL175 automatic bag loader systems providing the roll-serrated bag format for improved reliability while offering on-line print capability.
The Cryovac BL145 automatic bag loader provides processors with gravity-enabled vertical loading of roll-serrated bags for whole muscle fresh red meat or loose meats. This autoloader handles bag widths of 9- to 14-inches and bag lengths of 10- to 33-inches.
Its stepper-motor bag handling system provides increased speed and accuracy. Depending on bag length, the BL145 system can load up to 15 packages per minute.

The BL175 automatic roll-serrated bag loader performs horizontal loading for optimum bag to product sizing. The system is suited for whole muscle, boneless or bone-in fresh meat cuts, such as rib eyes, strips, two-piece pork butts and ham.
