The new Linx 7900 comes standard with everything one would expect from a CIJ printer.

Coding and marking specialist Linx Printing Technologies has unveiled the latest evolution in continuous ink jet printers – the Linx 7900, that provides a wealth of features at no extra cost.

One of the new standard features includes the stare-of-the-art Linx Insight software that allows users to monitor and control their Linx 7900 printers through a web browser, either via a PC or a web enabled smartphone.

The Linx Insight software means that with a few simple keystrokes on a remote computer connected to the internet, an operator can start, pause or stop the Linx 7900, change messages from pre-stored selections and download messages from the PC to the printer. Users can also lock the printer keyboard to prevent changes being made on the line – helping further reduce coding errors.

For people on the move there is the ability to check the current status of the printer from their smartphone; for example view the current print message, print count, ink and solvent status, and time to next service. This ability to monitor the printer remotely via a smartphone is unique to the Linx 7900 and means busy operators can keep their line moving, wherever they are.

All users can manage multiple printers from one easily accessible and simple to use web interface. Standard day to day printer operations can be performed without visiting each printer individually.

As well, a new ink system technology enables the Linx 7900 printer to run for up to 9,000 hours or 18 months between services, and despite the printer’s robustness, it also comes with a warranty of up to 18 months at no extra cost.

The Linx 7900 continues the Linx theme of ‘easy to use’, plus it can print up to five lines of code and meet a wide variety of coding needs.

“The Linx 7900 is built on a proven reliable platform and offers a wealth of features. It offers unrivaled cost of ownership benefits and reliability–all crucial factors when customers are deciding to buy a printer,” explains Linx senior product manager Charles Randon.

“Only the Linx 7900 offers – as standard – innovative features such as the Linx Insight software that allows remote monitoring and management.  This is in addition to an 18 month warranty and long service intervals. These features are often costly add-ons with other CIJ printers,” he adds.

As with other Linx printers the Linx 7900 helps avoid the hidden costs of coding through the lowest possible running costs, minimized production downtime, error-free coding and future-proofing.

Dynamically adjusted service intervals ensure customers only pay for vital maintenance. The Linx 7900 contains the successful Linx FullFlush automatic printhead cleaning system, mistake-proof refills with the SureFill system and error-free code changes with QuickSwitch software.

Routine maintenance is minimal and, in contrast to other printers on the market, there are no expensive ink system assemblies to replace at every service. Similarly, there is no need to change the ink tank between services, another hidden cost with other ink jet coders. The Linx 7900 is certain to make a major impact with operators who value ease of use, low running costs and reliability on a machine rich with features and technical innovation.
