An exceptional marketing campaign was just the tip of the iceberg, as the word of mouth for Danone‘s Oikos Greek Yogurt was definitely “Mmmmm”, a fact backed up by winning the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards “Best New Dairy Product” and the overall crown for “Best New Canadian Product“.
Along with the yogurt’s exceptional quality that has in a few short months of being launched won over millions of Canadian consumers – and the 32 jury members of the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards.
A Retail Council of Canada initiative, the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards are by far the most prestigious awards in the Canadian food industry. Of the hundreds of products submitted this year, 122 competed as finalists for the jury’s favorite.
“The dairy category is full of innovation, and many new products are being released every year,” notes Danone Canada Inc. marketing director Catherine Fortier. “Being named best new product of such a category is a remarkable honor, but in our view, winning the best new Canadian product award is quite a feat!”
Developed in Boucherville, PQ, Oikos was inspired by Greek tradition and made to offer a unique flavor and an incomparably rich, creamy texture. It’s a low-fat, yet protein-rich product that can be enjoyed as-is or used in recipes.
