The new TR-QCP Transrector Series robotic case packer offers very quick changeovers.

Developed and manufactured by AFA Systems Ltd. of Brampton, Ont., comes the new TR-QCP Transrector Robotic Case Packer, which, according to AFA, features a case transporting system never before seen in the case packing industry.

The TR-QCP does not require lugs and chains to complete the case erection, loading, gluing and sealing process. A gantry robot is used to pick and erect the case. The gantry robot then transfers the case through the loading, sealing and discharge station.

Through this process, the case is secured by the gantry robot’s end effector. This feature eliminates the typical lug and chain arrangement on the case transporting system seen on most case packing applications.

In addition, end users incur numerous benefits including reduction of machinery components (such as chains, motors, and more), fully automatic changeover and simpler maintenance.

The TR-QCP provides extremely fast, accurate, and repeatable changeover, with AFA stating that the entire machine can be changed over in less than two minutes.

The ergonomic Flat Stack Magazine requires no adjustments when changing over case sizes. Operators simply place the case stack on the magazine and the TR-QCP automatically does the rest.

The TR-QCP can run either tape or glue style cases as well as wrap around cases. Rockwell Automation‘s Allen-Bradley servo motors and PLC (programmable logic controllers) control system are standard on the TR-QCP.
