Organized by PAC – The Packaging Association, ABB Inc. held an open-house at its Brampton, Ont. facility on April 19, 2012 with live demonstrations of its robots in conjunction with some of its partners.
ABB is a manufacturer of products, systems and services that increase industrial productivity as well as energy efficiency for a diverse range of picking, packaging and palletizing applications.
With over 40 guests, ABB’s open-house was a success, as many guests left the tour shaking their head in awe at the power, accuracy and reliability of the robotic equipment on display.
Along with viewing automotive robotic displays, its state-of-the-art training room featuring hands-on interaction with robots, visitors were treated to seeing four robotic cells in action with help from ABB partners Tech-Con Automation, Axiom Industrial Automation and ABI Automation Ltd.
Below are videos of some of the robotic cells in action:
ABB FlexPicker: using a gentle vacuum suction to pick and place poker chips into a container.
ABB’s Palletizing robot featuring equipment manufactured by Tech-Con Automation Incorporated: picking up cartons two at a time and neatly stacking them onto a pallet.
An ABB FlexPicker IRB 360: Robotic cell built by ABI Automation Ltd. picking and placing bagels onto a conveyor line.
