Celebrate World Gin Day on June 10, 2017 with a gin and a KISS.

You might not have been born in 1974 when KISS debuted their hit rock song Cold Gin, but you can celebrate it on June 10, 2017 with World Gin Day, a celebration of all-things gin.

The concept of World Gin Day is always the second Saturday of June, a day when you get to celebrate and enjoy gin.

We’re not sure if that means using cans of hair spray to tease your hair or if you need to get out your five-inch platform boots, but to each their own.

Gin is a spirit derived from juniper berries, and while the alcoholic drink has its own line of fanciers, World Gin Day was started in 2009 by Neil Houston as a way to bring friends together.

Since then—and now organized by Emma Stokes, aka Gin Monkey since 2013—the event has become a global sensation with events going on in over 30 countries—touching 50 million people on social channels.

To help you celebrate the day, Seattle-based Talking Rain Beverage Company has provided some special gin-based recipes, featuring its flavored, lightly carbonated sparkling water.

Via its Sparkling Ice brand beverages combining sparkling water and natural flavors offering  great tasting, lightly carbonated beverages, the beverages are available in Canada in six refreshing flavors: Black Raspberry, Orange Mango, Kiwi Strawberry, Coconut Pineapple, Lemon Lime and Cherry Limeade.
