General Controls/Drives safety record at Schneider Electric Schneider Electric Canada Worker Safety

Schneider Electric Canada reaches milestone—2-million hours without a recordable injury.

Earlier this summer, Schneider Electric Canada reached an exciting milestone—the company’s Services and Projects team surpassed 2-million hours without a recordable injury. This accomplishment was the result of a concerted effort to stop injuries in the workplace before they occur.

In order to keep their employees safe and business running smoothly, Schneider Electric Canada implemented:

  • Job site safety audits;
  • A reporting process and scorecard to display audit results, enabling them to be linked to KPI’s;
  • A focus and emphasis on on-the-job safety planning.

Schneider Electric Canada understood that it would take planning and commitment from all levels of the organization to increase safety and therefore drove this initiative from the top down. For example, safety is now the number one agenda item at the Services and Projects group’s monthly vice-presidents meeting and each level of management completes a number of safety audits each year.
