Roller-derby-playing nurse rolls out booster shots to Lou’s Kitchen employees

Stoney Creek, ON – February 2, 2022 – When it comes to quality, Lou’s Kitchen never compromises. And when it comes to its 150 employees, health and safety is a top priority. That’s why Lou’s offered a booster clinic for employees, their families and friends (18 years and older) at its 90,0000 square foot production headquarters in Stoney Creek. Helping to administer the shots was Angela Armbrister, a nurse by day and roller derby player with the South Simcoe Rebel Rollers. Her roller derby team is sponsored by Lou’s.
“We want to help keep our employees and their families safe, and by providing this booster clinic at work, we’re making it easy and convenient for them to have the opportunity to receive a COVID booster shot,” said Roland Love, President, Lou’s Kitchen. “If this clinic can help our employees and their loved ones stay healthy, reduce lost work time, and keep Lou’s products and the supply chain moving, then it’s absolutely worth it for everyone, including our customers!”
Safety has always been a top priority at Lou’s. In response to the pandemic, Lou’s implemented new employee safety standards including enhanced sanitation, masks and physical distancing. Lou’s was one of the first food producers in Canada to voluntarily adopt BRC Certification in their facility – a global standard for safety and quality. Lou’s is also HACCP Certified which defines a systematic preventative approach to food safety and is regularly federally inspected to ensure the highest standard for food safety.
