Safety automation powerhouse Pilz Automation Safety Canada L.P. celebrated it’s recent opening at its spanking new Mississauga,Ont.-based location with a lavish grand opening.

Previously located in Barrie, the new Mississauga facility stands at an impressive 53,000-square-feet, approximately three times the size of the original facility. In addition, the Pilz warehouse is 12,000-square-feet and has a training room that seats about 22 people.

Currently, Pilz Canada has six people in the office, which will add another 11 in the next couple of years.

“It’s about time that Pilz can show Canadians what Pilz worldwide is about,” Andreas Sobotta, chief executive officer of Pilz Canada, told Canadian Packaging in an exclusive interview.

“I am looking forward for Pilz Canada to grow, and add more people.”

Sobotta also shares that the Mississauga location offers more benefits to the business, thanks to the larger pool of people and customers in the area.

“We can invite customers here, which we couldn’t do before, and Mississauga is right where everyone else is,” Sobotta says. “We have automation companies and customers here and we’re very happy to have a lot of people at the grand opening.”

Prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony, Sobotta addressed the 75 attendees, taking it as an opportunity to thank the customers of Pilz, who act as testament to the work that Pilz does every day.

“All of you are part of the success of Pilz Canada and we thank you very much for your business, for your support and for your help,” Sobotta said in his address to the crowd.

“With this building, we are able to deliver the Pilz standard to Canada.

Sobotta concludes: “We are here today to celebrate the official opening of Pilz Canada office, and we are ready to fulfill our missions. We want to make Canada, a little bit better everyday.”
